Remembering Judy Mallory (1940-2020)

It is with tremendous sadness that Arts For All announces the passing of our beloved founder, Judith Mallory. She passed on June 11, 2020 after an exhaustive battle with breast cancer.

It was Judy’s dream to make arts education accessible for everyone. She started Arts For All in 2006 after the arts organization she was working for closed its doors, leaving its families without an art outlet. Arts For All as an organization started with roughly 40 kids from all of its several sites, growing to serve over 4000 students a year. There are Arts For All locations across the metro and even students now taking classes online in other states. Judy was a Jefferson Award winner, Omaha Venture Group Grant Recipient, and the Governor’s Award winner from Gov. Pete Ricketts among other community awards and honors.

The lives of those affected by Judy’s passing range from the students Arts For All teaches to the families in the community that we interact with, from the teachers that instruct classes and the community partners who help us provide quality arts programming. She will be missed as the community lost a valuable member and leader in Judy.

The work that Judy started will continue in her absence. Arts For All will keep providing the community with affordable and quality arts classes. Judy would have wanted us all to continue sharing and enjoying the arts, together.
