Classes at our Old Mill location are held on Saturday mornings at St. Timothy’s Lutheran Church.

VISUAL ART CLASSES

Cartooning 1  9:00a
Instructor John D’Arcy will lead students through the whimsical world of creating your very own comic through classic methods of cartooning.  Ages 7+

Cartooning 2  10:00a
Instructor John D’Arcy takes it up a little with this level 2 class. Ages 10+

Drawing 1 9:00a
Perfect for those learning and developing their drawing techniques with traditional materials such as vine charcoal and ink. Ages 10-15

Intro to Media 9:00a, 10:00a
Our General Art class is now Intro to Media. This class helps students explore the variety of media used to create visual art from acrylic paint, oil pastels, 3D modeling material and more! Ages 7-12

Pet Portraits 10:00a
Students will take on the fulfilling project of producing a loving portrait of that furry family member. Ages 8+

 

THEATRE CLASSES

Acting 1 9:00a
This acting class learns the basics of acting, with a focus on improvisation, movement, vocal projection, and intentional expression. Through the semester,  Kim Huggins leads students through exercises that let students practice working with others, becoming more self-confident in their expression, and using their imagination for problem solving and storytelling. Ages 8+

WRITING CLASSES

Writing Unplugged 10:00a
Unplug from the electronics and reconnect with your creativity. In this class we will learn the power of journaling, our senses, and ourselves through writing. Everyone will get a notebook in which you will journal, free write, and create characters and stories that take us places that you have only dreamed of. Ages 11-14

MUSIC CLASSES

Guitar 1* 10:00a
Using Hal Leonard’s Guitar Method, students will learn the basics of playing guitar including the skills of tuning and reading music. Justin Gilbreath will instruct. Ages 6+

Piano 1* 9:00a, 10:00a
Using Bastien Piano Basics (Primer A), students will learn the very basics of the piano including hand positioning, staffs, repeats, reading notes, and music theory. Ages 4-6

Piano 2* 9:00a, 10:00a
Using Bastien Piano Basics (Primer Level), students will learn the basics of the piano and continue to gather music reading skills and playing techniques including time signatures and melodic and harmonic intervals. Ages 7+

Violin* 10:00a
Using the Suzuki method, young violinists will learn the basics of violin including reading music, instrument maintenance and developing a natural bow hold. Ages 7+

 Tuition for classes is $130 for the fall semester ($10 per class and a one-time $10 equipment fee.)
* These classes have a music book purchase requirement. Books are $10 and can be purchased the first day of classes.

I, as parent or legal guardian of the Arts For All, Inc. student, hereinafter referred to as (the “student”) hereby understand, agree, and consent to the following: A. Limited Liability That the student may participate in any and all Arts For All, Inc. (AFA) related activities during the current session; That I assume all risk and hazards incidental to such participation including those related to transportation to and from activities; That I hereby waiver, release, absolve, indemnify and agree to hold harmless AFA, its agents, organizers, sponsors, supervisors, instructors, and persons transporting the student to and from the activities for any claims arising out of any and all injuries, damages, or losses, except insofar as AFA is indemnified by a third party accident or liability insurance provider; That I do not hold the organization responsible for any injury or damage or loss; That I assume the responsibility for signing the student in at the beginning of class and coming inside to pick up the student after class B. Financial Responsibility That I assume responsibility for the fees for the entire semester regardless of the student’s attendance. C. Photograph/ Video Release That I, as parent or legal guardian of (the “student”), hereby consent to the use of the student’s image in advertisements and fundraising solicitations. Students are not identified by name in such images by Arts for All, Inc. D. Emergency Medical Care I, as parent or legal guardian of (the “student”), hereby authorize class personnel to obtain medical care from any licensed physician, hospital, medical clinic, or qualified healthcare provider should the student become ill or injured while participating in class activities. Parking Lot Waiver I, as parent or legal guardian of (the "student"), hereby authorize and allow my child to leave the building without parent/guardian supervision and hereby acknowledge that Arts For All, Inc. assumes no liability for the safety of my child. If my child does NOT have my permission to leave the building, I, as parent or legal guardian of (the “student”), will contact the Arts For All, Inc. Office.
